Place Plans Are On File: LBUSD Purchasing Branch and Reed Construction Plan Room E. MANDATORYJob Walk: 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 2016. Meet at: Purchasing Branch, 2201 E. Market Street, Long Beach, 90805 SUMMARY OF WORK: Leaded paint film stabilization, paint preparation of asbestos containing material and other lead-related construction work for exterior paint projects. NOTICE: Notice is hereby given that the Long Beach Unified School District acting by and through its Governing Board will receive sealed bids for the award of a contract for the above-named PROJECT prior to the bid deadline stated above. Bids shall be received in the place identified above, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place. Whether or not bids are opened exactly at the time fixed in this notice no bid will be received after the bid deadline. Any bids received after the time specified above or after any extensions due to material changes shall be returned unopened. The District mandates that all contractors comply with Department of Industrial Relations general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality. Information available from the Dept. of Industrial Relations (www.dir.ca.gov). Pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1720 et seq. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public work project over $1,000 unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a) in which circumstance the contractor or subcontractor is ineligible to respond to a bid or to do public work]. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. BIDDER must post a bid bond executed by a surety admitted in the State of California as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, or other security in the amount of 10% of the amount of the bid with the bid. Separate payment and performance bonds executed by a surety admitted in the State of California as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount, are required, and shall be provided to the DISTRICT prior to execution of the contract. In accordance with the provisions of Public Contract Code §22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance under this contract would be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor. BIDDER shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and be licensed in the following classification(s): B or C-33. Each bidder must also possess a Hazardous Substance Removal Certification or Subcontract with a Hazardous Certified Contractor. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding.
