Long Beach Press-Telegram, LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS BID #1570-15/16 - SECURITY OFFICER SERVICES In accordance with Public Contract Code 20111, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION, hereinafter referred to as LACOE, will receive up to, but not later than, 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, sealed bids for award of a contract for security officer services. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., in the Conference Room 156, at the ECW Building located at 12830 Columbia Way (formerly known as Clark Avenue), Downey, California. All bidders are encouraged to attend and visit as many sites as necessary to become familiar with the sites and bid requirements. All bids shall be made and presented on a form furnished and in the format specified by the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Bids shall be submitted to the attention of Contracts Section. If bids are mailed, mail to Los Angeles County Office of Education, Attn: Contracts Section, ECW Building, Room 153, 9300 Imperial Highway, Downey, California, 90242-2890, and marked to the attention of Anne Brache, Procurement Services Assistant. If bids are hand-delivered, deliver to Los Angeles County Office of Education, Contracts Section, 12830 Columbia Way (formerly known as Clark Avenue), Room 153, Downey, California, and marked to the attention of Anne Brache, Procurement Services Assistant. Bids shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated date and time. Bids received after the deadline will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Each bidder shall possess, at the time the bid is awarded, a valid state of California Private Patrol Operator License (PPO) issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, Department of Consumer Affairs. The successful contractor shall maintain the license throughout the duration of the contract. All company office locations in the state of California must have a valid Private Patrol Branch (PPB) license. Each bid must conform and be responsive to the request for bid documents and shall be accompanied by a certified check or cashier's check in the penal sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) or a five percent (5%) bid bond for the total amount of the bid being submitted, whichever is less, payable to LACOE. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for opening of bids. Deborah C.
