Long Beach Press-Telegram, NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Compton Unified School District ("District"), acting by and through its Governing Board, invites sealed bids for the following work ("Work"): BID #16008 PLAYFIELDS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT (ERP) Bids shall be prepared in conformance with the Instructions to Bidders using the forms included in the Bidding Documents. Submit all bids in a sealed envelope showing the bid number, opening date, and opening time. All Bids shall be received by the Compton Unified School District, Purchasing Department, 501 S. Santa Fe Avenue, 2nd Floor, Compton, California 90221, no later than Ten O'clock A.M. (10:00AM), on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Secretary's desk (Purchasing Dept.) no other place is acceptable. To be thereafter on said date and at said location publicly opened and read aloud at the above stated time and place. Bidders using mail service for submittal of bids, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure the bid package is received in the Purchasing Services Department at the address indicated above. The Bidder assumes full and sole responsibility for timely receipt of its Bid, the Bid Security and any other documents required to be submitted with the Bid, by the District at the location designated for receipt of Bids. Further note, for purposes of the bid submittal, the time stamp clock in the Purchasing Department of the Compton Unified School District will be considered the official time. All bids shall be made and presented on a form furnished by the District. Each bid must be accompanied by a ten (10%) Bid Bond, certified or cashier's check of the total bid and must be made payable to the Compton Unified School District. Oleander Avenue Compton, CA 90220 Any contractor to whom a contract for the Work is awarded by the District shall be required to furnish performance and payment bonds as provided in the Instructions to Bidders and a 5% retention. Any contractor to whom a contract for the Work is awarded by the District is required to possess at the time the contract for the Work is awarded a contracting license of the following classification(s): Any Contractor to whom a contract for the Work is awarded by the District shall comply with the applicable provisions of the California Labor Code and California Code of Regulations, as well as the District's Project Labor Agreement (if any). The Contractor and its subcontractors shall pay the general prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed in accordance with, without limitation, Labor Code §§ 1773.1, 1774, 1775 and 1776, and the obligation to comply with Labor Code §§ 1777.5 and 1777.6 governing employment of apprentices. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for public works project on or after March 1, 2015 unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1 (a) No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public works on a public works project awarded on or after April 1, 2015 unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 Compton Unified School District requires the prime contractor to post job site notices prescribed by regulation (refer to 8 Calif. Code Reg. sub-section 1645 (d) for the notice that previously was required for projects monitored by the CMU.) In accordance with §1773.2 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor shall post a copy of the determination of prevailing rate of wages. The schedule of per-diem wages is based upon a working day of eight (8) hours. The rate for holiday and overtime work shall be at time and one-half. The Contractor and any subcontractor(s) shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. In accordance with provisions of Public Contract Code §22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor. Each bidder shall possess at the time this contract is awarded a license, pursuant to Public Contract Code §3300. The successful bidder must maintain the license throughout the duration of this contract. Bids shall be valid for one hundred twenty (120) days after the final bid date. The Compton Unified School District reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, proposals, or any combination thereof and to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid or in the bidding process. All bids must be in writing, sealed and identified as to content. They should be delivered to the address noted below, received and time stamped by the Purchasing department Secretary no later than June 16, 2016 @ 10:00 a.m. Bids received later than the above date and time shall be rejected and returned to the bidder unopened.
